NEW DELHI — A shoe was hurled on Thursday at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and spokesperson G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, while he was addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here.
The shoe did not hit him and Rao, however, had a narrow escape.
At the time of the incident, the BJP spokesperson was talking about fielding Sadhvi Pragya from Bhopal constituency and was criticising Congress for allegedly defaming Hindus, according to reports.

Rao termed the incident a ‘condemnable act’ by a ‘Congress inspired’ person, reports ANI.
“This is a condemnable act by the Congress. This is yet another attempt by a Congress-inspired person who comes here to show the same kind of mentality,” Rao said after the attack.
The attacker was immediately overpowered and pushed out of the media room.
Subsequently, the Rajya Sabha member continued with the press conference.
