JEDDAH (IINA) – The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani strongly condemned the attack on Thursday by Al-Shabab gunmen against Garissa University College campus in north eastern Kenya. The bloody rampage killed some 148 people and left scores injured.
Madani expressed his utter dismay and horror at the senseless attack in which innocent people lost their lives. He stated that the OIC shares the grief of the Kenyan people, conveying his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Kenya over this tragedy.
The Secretary General restated the principled position of the OIC condemning terrorism in whatever form or manifestation. He renewed his call for enhancing international cooperation to combat the escalating menace posed by terrorism to global peace and security.
