NEW DELHI — In slap to the band of apologists and opportunist Muslims, noted activist and former civil servant Harsh Mander has launched a campaign for joint filing of a review petition against the  Supreme Court judgement on the Babri Masjid title dispute case. A large number of people have written in warm support to the idea of filing a review petition against the verdict.

Mander said, “Our consensus is that this should be filed collectively by a very wide range of citizens, people of various faith groups (as well as agnostics and atheists); people of a range of professions – farmers, workers, people from the academia, law, media, the arts, the professions, human rights, peace workers, government service, the private sector, care work and many others; and people from a wide range of political beliefs – but all bound by a firm commitment to the values in the preamble of the Constitution – secularism, socialism, justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.”

In the prevailing atmosphere, he quoted from Martin Luther King Jr and Jean Paul Sartre to  boost the morale of the affected people. “Never, never be afraid to do what is right. The society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our souls when we look away,”  Martin Luther King Jr had said.

“You do not fight fascism because you will win. You fight fascism because it is fascism,” stated Jean Paul Sartre.
