NEW DELHI — The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has trashed as rubbish the media reports about any telephonic or face-to-face talks with Hindu spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to resolve the Babri Masjid issue. Board’s General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani reiterated that Babri Masjid will remain a mosque till doomsday. However, he also repeated Board’s consensus decision that it would accept the judgment of the Supreme Court.

All India Muslim Personal Law Board has been firm on its stand that the place of Babri Masjid will remain for mosque from the earth to the sky till doomsday. The Board remains on this stand even today. And it is also the consensus decision of the Board that Muslim Personal Law Board will accept the judgment of the Supreme Court,” said Maulana Rahmani in a press statement on Wednesday.

He also said that “some news reports are being linked to Board and said that there is a conspiracy behind the scene and that there was telephonic or face-to-face talk with Hindu spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar – all this is baseless and fake news. There is no truth in it.”

He termed such reports as part of conspiracy to vitiate the atmosphere of the country in order to influence the Supreme Court that is going to hold daily hearing of the case from next month.

“As the Supreme Court would hear the case on daily basis from December 5, 2017, so there is a conspiracy to vitiate the atmosphere in order to influence the Court,” said the Maulana and urged Muslims not to heed to such rumors which, he said, will further increase as the day (Dec 5) approaches.

He said that the Babri Masjid case in pending in the Supreme Court and the Board has consensus that it will wait for the decision of the court. “It has been said time and again that we will accept the verdict of the court only.”

He, however, said that if a responsible person comes up with an unconditional strong formula, the Board will discuss it.

“In the past also, several dialogues on Babri issue have taken place and all have failed. Board is firm in its view that if a responsible personality comes up with an unconditional and strong formula then it would be put before the executive committee of the Muslim Personal Law Board and whatever it decides will be acted upon,” said Maulana Rahmani.
