NEW DELHI — The Supreme Court on Friday junked a plea to conduct ‘puja’ at the “undisputed part of the 67.7 acres land” in Ayodhya..

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi told the petitioner.: “You will not let this country live in peace… Somebody has to always poke.”

The Apex court also refused to withdraw the Allahabad High Court orders imposing a Rs 5 lakh penalty on the petitioner.

Earlier, the high court rejecting a similar petition had imposed a fine of Rs five lakh on another petitioner seeking permission to offer namaz at the disputed site.

In February, in a separate plea, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy moved the apex court seeking enforcement of his fundamental right to worship at the disputed Ram Temple site.
