The massive demonstration took place just a day after humiliating defeat of the ruling BJP in the prestigious Lok Sabha by-polls for Gorakhpur and Phulpur seats.
LUCKNOW: Thousands of successful teaching candidates held a massive protest demonstration at the state head office of the ruling BJP here on Thursday. For hours, they blocked the main entrance of the office over delay by the Yogi Adityanath government in issuing the joining letters to over 12,000 successful candidates.
Despite two orders by the Allahabad High Court in the last three months in favor of the 12,460 candidates, the government has not issued joining letters to them.
Drawn from various parts of Uttar Pradesh, thousands of youths who were selected for the posts of Assistant Teachers couple of years ago, demonstrated at the BJP office, just a day after humiliating defeat of the saffron party in the prestigious Lok Sabha by-polls for the Gorakhpur and Phulpur seats. The seats were vacated after Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Prasad Maurya became Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
