LONDON — At 9.00pm last night (Sunday, Nov 8) a masive projection of Narendra Modi holding a sword in one hand and a shield with the Oum symbol with a swastika superimposed appeared on the Houses of Parliament next to the iconic Big Ben. Above it were the letters Modi Not Welcome. It was the most high profile message from the campaigners of the Modi Not Welcome organisations which have come together as the Awaaz Network.

As a spokesperson from one of the constituent groups South Asia Solidarity Group commented ‘The projection represents the fascistic ideology which Modi and the RSS – admirers of Hitler – stands for.On the day when voters in Bihar decisively rejected Modi’s anti-people politics of hate, this demonstrates that Modi will get the same message of rejection from a large section of Indians abroad and all those who care about human rights violations. He can no longer peddle the myth of NRI adulation to try and bolster his image at home’

The demonstration on the 12th of November at Downing Street beginning at midday is likely to be a massive affair with a range of groups involved.

  1. This is not acceptable he is elected PM of India and insult to him is insult for whole India…and when Supreme Court of India already gave him clean chit then no one can question him on anything……His party lost one election that to in a state which tolerant to underdevelopment…India already gave his verdict in 2014 …now those who are staying abroad have no rights at all you are not living here in India…you don’t have voting rights so please shut your mouth…we don’t have a view of Big Ben what we all have here in India is view of India Gate and we have respect for it so…Indians who all are behind this Same On You

    • umm, the judges and court controlled by him can declare him a god too and u will have to follow. and if you say that those non-indians have no right to say anything and you dont bother, then maybe ask mr modi to not go there begging

      • He was given a clean chit when the Congress was in power. So even the judges and court ‘controlled” by the congress government gave him a clean chit. Please stop hating the PM simply based on paid media reports and because he is a Hindu. Just because he is proud of his religion does not mean he hates others. besides a true hindu, which i believe he is, will always believe in “Sarva devo namaskaram keshavam prathigachathi” which means that all salutations to ANY god will reach the One. That One is called Allah by you, and Vishnu by me..

  2. First of all, it is NOT the UK Govt giving fatva to Modi’s coming but some private organizations. They have the right to voice forth their concerns. Modi in India is not a single individual but the Prime Minister. He could have put a stop long ago to many things that hurt the Muslims (like the ban on cow slaughter) and the instigations coming now and then from the mouths of Govt officials (like Sushma saying Bhagavad Gita should be made the national scripture) and the other incitements made by the Hindu Swami and MP. The events continue with the latest tow over Tipu Sultan’s anniversary celebrations and Hindus taking part in it. Where is Modi and what has he done? The President Pranab had to open his mouth on tolerance and the national character of diversity. Modi may be an RSS pracharak and need not submit to its head on national issues. Why should Bhagvat address the nation on the Air? Who has allowed such things? Why should Rajnath and others visit RSS leader? Can BJP stand without the RSS is the prime question Modi and others in BJP must ask. The major problem with BJP is that they are unable to draw line between BJP and RSS. Bihar poll result is a good lesson. Will the BJP learn?

  3. Protest must be stages at his visit. I support. He is democratically elected prime minister of India but is not behaving that way. With his conniving support there is an increase of intolerance in the last One year. His party’s law makers are ranting day in and day out against Muslims, critics, academicians, film personalities, and even retired veterans. He fooled people of India. He promised them developments, employment for youth etc. Did nothing. He changed the agenda of his govt from what is mentioned above to Gaai (Cow), Ganga and Geeta. The prices of pulses are sky rocketing and he is not worried. Instead of remaining in India he has been flying in the sky since he became the PM.

No, he shouldn’t be welcomed. He and his fascist party BJP/RSS think that he enjoys tremendous support outside India. This myth has to be broken once for all.
