NEW DELHI — Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) helped more than 1000 candidates to get job on-the-spot and more than 3500 were shortlisted for the next round of selection in the mega job fairs held in Kolkata and Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore.
The job fairs were organized by the AMP in association with the respective State Minorities Finance Corporations in two phases on February 2 and 5. The fairs which were held in Kolkata’s Park Circus Maidan and Nellore’s Sarvodaya witnessed huge turnout of over 10,000 candidates in which more than 95 Corporates and HR Consultants across various industries took part.
The job fairs were aimed at helping unemployed youths to get placed in reputed Corporates without any discrimination of caste, community, and creed.
In Kolkata, the fair was organized in direct association with West Bengal Minorities Finance Development Corporation (WBMFDC) while in Nellore, it was organized in association with United Muslim Minorities Federation (UMF) and was supported by Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Finance Corporation (APSMFC).
Talking about the job fairs, Amir Edresy, President, AMP said “In the current situation, although the Job scenario is not very bright, we partnered with UMF to help the local youth in Nellore. If you have proper talent and caliber, you will be able to get jobs. We hope this Job Fair will be the right platform for the youth in Nellore to transform their lives for the better and contribute to India’s growth story”.
Dr. P.B. Salim, Chairman of WBMDFC, said “Organizing this Job Fair is our small way of contributing to nation-building. By helping unemployed youths get jobs, we help in societal development and thus the development of the nation. We received nearly 10,000 online registrations. We are very happy to conduct this Job Fair with AMP to provide livelihood to many people across Kolkata. We look forward to conducting more such Job Fairs in the coming days in association with AMP”.
Abdul Aziz Shaikh, Mayor, Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC), also lauded the job fairs and said “it is a matter of great pride organizing this job fair. However, this fair is not just for Minorities but it is for the talented candidates who can get the endorsement from the Corporates. We appreciate UMF who partnered with AMP in taking their vision further along with APSMFC for organizing the fair and helping youth in Nellore get gainful employment.”
