Leading Kashmir dailies leave editorial space blank on 19 June 2018 as mark of protest against the killing of journalist Shujaat Bukhari

SRINAGAR: Several leading Kashmir newspapers on Tuesday left their editorial space blank as a mark of protest over the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari.

The dailies that protested in this way include Rising Kashmir, Kashmir Times, Kashmir Reader and Greater Kashmir.

Bukhari, Editor-in-Chief of the Srinagar-based daily Rising Kashmir, was shot dead along with his two security officials by some unidentified armed men outside his office in Srinagar on 14th June.

On Monday in Delhi, scores of journalists from various media organizations gathered at the Press Club of India to remember and express solidarity with slain Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari.

The event was jointly organized by Press Club of India, Indian Women Press Corps, South Asian Free Media Association, Indian Journalists Union, Editors Guild of India, Press Association, South Asian Women in Media (SAWN), India.
