SAMBHAL — A Bharatiya Janata Party legislator has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging corruption against officers of Sambhal district, reports PTI.
The letter written by an MLA from Gunnaur constituency in Sambhal district is enough to sound alarm bells to chief minister Yogi Adityanath and confirms that corruption is very much rampant in the state.
MLA Ajeet Kumar Yadav in a letter dated January 3 addressed to Adityanath said, “Owing to the corrupt practices of the officials in the district, the mood of the people have turned against the state government. If corruption is not controlled, then the BJP may have to face heavy losses in the Lok Sabha elections.”
Talking to reporters BJP Lawmaker said most of the officials in the district were corrupt.
The dustbins which cost around Rs 22-300 were purchased at around Rs. 12,000 per piece by the officials to make money, Ajeej Kumar Yadav alleged.
He also said that in villages electricity bills are sent to people who have no power connection.
This is one MLA from a small district of Uttar Pradesh who felt the pinch of corruption and noticed the mood of the people going against the BJP government. Many more MLA may be there in the state waiting to open their mouth. Sooner the government takes steps to curb corruption the better
