NEW DELHI — Carnatic musician T M Krishna will perform in Delhi on Saturday at the invite of the Arvind Kejriwal government. The Delhi government invited him after the Airport Authority of India (AAI) canceled Krishna’s concert allegedly under pressure from the right wing trolls on social media. Krishna has been critic of ideology of RSS and policies of BJP government.
“No artist should ever be denied an opportunity to perform. I have invited @tmkrishna to perform on the 17th Nov for the people of Delhi
It’s important to maintain the dignity of the Art and Artists,” tweeted Aam Aadmi Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Friday morning.

Reports say Krishna will perform at Garden of Five Senses in Saidul Ajaib village near Saket in South Delhi.
Krishna was earlier to perform at the two-day “Dance and Music in the Park” festival at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, organised jointly by the AAI and the cultural body, SPIC-MACAY, on November 17-18. However, soon after the news about the event flashed, right wing trolls unleashed attack on Krishna and AAI. They even called him “anti-India”. On 13th evening, AAI withdrew the invite. It wrote to SPIC-MACAY saying it was not in a position to go ahead with the concert “because of some exigencies of work”.
In an interview with NDTV at Ravish Kumar’s Prime Time show Thursday night, Krishna said AAI was appreciating the event for days till all of sudden it withdrew the invite 13th November evening.
In the interview, he said he has been opposing the upper caste hegemony in politics, governance and other spheres of Indian life including music.
